Walked in today and i was the only person in the library with 3 staff in front of me and not one of them acknowledged me or offered to help me. One lady turned her back on me. I stood there for a while until it was awkward then someone eventually helped me with my query. Grumpy and unprofessional. Definitely not going back!

Stayed open throughout the pandemic. Not a vast selection of books but enough to satisfy the average readers. Lots of other things going on for old and young and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Central Beds Council have moved there customer service department into the public area of the library, this has resulted in no privacy for their clients and anyone using the library can hear what is being said. With so much being said about data protection is this really a good idea?

What a grumpy, unhelpful manager. My son has completed the summer reading challenge, reading 6 books over the last 4 weeks. Due to a 2 week trip away we didn’t manage to visit the library after each book so he was really excited this morning to finally return his books & get all the stickers.. only to be told he was only allowed 2 at time, regardless of the books read! Initially we were then told he had to read 2 more before we could return, then the manageress called out we could return tomorrow. How UN-encouraging is that attitude? This is a national scheme - does anyone know how to contact the organiser? It is appalling that this woman has shot down my son’s pride at doing all his reading in only 4 weeks. She should be ashamed of her attitude & poor customer service skills.

Wonderful local resource! Books,CDs, magazines, computer and printer access. Meeting room for private groups. Kids' crafts and weekly rhyme times.

Not very well laid out, alphabetically incorrect and this makes finding what you are looking for very difficult. Also too cramped, narrow aisles etc

The staff make Shefford library a place you actually want to visit. They are helpful and courteous. It has good resources and it well stocked. Reading groups are catered for and the whole place is efficiently run. Well done!
